چکیده
The main parameters of wind waves in the World Ocean are connected with global climate change. Renewable energy technologies, intensive shipping, fishery, marine infrastructure, and many different human activities coastal zone open sea need knowledge about wind-wave climate. motivation this research is to share various wave high spatial resolution via a modern cartographic web atlas. developed atlas contains information on 13 Russian Seas, including Azov, Black, Baltic, Caspian, White, Barents, Kara, Laptev, East Siberian, Chukchi, Bering Sea Okhotsk, Japan/East Sea. analysis was based results modeling by WAVEWATCH III input NCEP/CFSR ice data. organized using classic three-tier architecture, which includes data storage subsystem (database server), publishing (GIS application that provides user interface for interacting map services (webserver). access following parameters: mean maximum significant height, length period, flux, speed, power. allows changing scale (zoom) detailed zones where model 300–1000 m.

The Effect of Breaking Waves on a Coupled Model of Wind and Ocean Surface Waves. Part I: Mature Seas
This is the first of a two-part investigation of a coupled wind and wave model that includes the enhanced form drag of breaking waves. In Part I here the model is developed and applied to mature seas. Part II explores the solutions in a wide range of wind and wave conditions, including growing seas. Breaking and nonbreaking waves induce air-side fluxes of momentum and energy above the air–sea i...
متن کاملWIND observations of coherent electrostatic waves in the solar wind
The time domain sampler (TDS) experiment on WIND measures electric and magnetic wave forms with a sampling rate which reaches 120 000 points per second. We analyse here observations made in the solar wind near the Lagrange point L1. In the range of frequencies above the proton plasma frequency fpi and smaller than or of the order of the electron plasma frequency fpe, TDS observed three kinds of...
متن کاملReminiscences on the study of wind waves
The wind blowing over sea surface generates tiny wind waves. They develop with time and space absorbing wind energy, and become huge wind waves usually referred to ocean surface waves. The wind waves cause not only serious sea disasters but also take important roles in the local and global climate changes by affecting the fluxes of momentum, heat and gases (e.g. CO2) through the air-sea boundar...
متن کامل3-D HOS simulations of extreme waves in open seas
In the present paper we propose a method for studying extreme-wave appearance based on the HigherOrder Spectral (HOS) technique proposed by West et al. (1987) and Dommermuth and Yue (1987). The enhanced HOS model we use is presented and validated on test cases. Investigations of freak-wave events appearing within longtime evolutions of 2-D and 3-D wavefields in open seas are then realized, and ...
متن کاملHeavy metals in aerosols over the seas of the Russian Arctic.
A review of the data on heavy metals in aerosols over the seas of the Russian Arctic is presented. Results of heavy metal studies in aerosols obtained during 11 research expeditions in summer/autumn period from 1991 to 2000, and at Severnaya Zemlya and Wrangel Island in spring, in 1985-1989 are discussed. Concentrations of most heavy metals in the atmosphere in the marine boundary layer in the ...
